new to us

Not long ago, it became apparent that the cheap, poorly made dressers we've been hauling around with us for every move had finally reached the end of their line. The drawer bottoms have been falling out for a long time, but until recently, I've always been able to fix them with a little glue and a lot of will power. Just look at that picture. Can I get an UGLY!!?

$75 later, we found ourselves the proud owners of this second-hand beauty (thanks to the wonder that is craigslist). Not only is it lovely, but this sucker is solid as a rock, and should last us a good while. I found the mirror for $50 at a local antique mall, which is a great price considering it's size. Eventually, I'm going to paint the frame white. Ahhhh, much better.

The frames of the original dressers are in decent shape, so I'm toying with the idea of removing the drawers and drawer runners, adding shelves and painting them bright colors for some fun bookcases for our basement family room.
