Indiana Inspiration

Whilst in Indiana, we visited the cheerful, colorful home of my great aunt Barbara. I got a lot of great ideas and inspiration for using more color in our home. Would've taken more pictures, but I didn't want to be rude.

I really loved the shade of orange on this door. I've got to find a way to use that color at my place! And that good looking guy in the photo? He's my Dad.

The picture's blur doesn't really do it justice, but the folksy paintings on the stair risers are adorable. They're supposedly inspired by Swiss folk painting-- an homage to our Swiss heritage. If I had any artistic talent at all, I'd rip the carpet off my stairs and do the same thing!

I love this orange door. It's even cooler than I first thought it would be. And the stairs!!! I want to paint my stairs too. I would like a picture of this door in a frame. Do you have any w/o your Dad? I think he's handsome and all but it would be strange to hang him in my house, don't you think?
